A New Year (Again)

Happy New year. This small piece of sentence haunts poor like us at least for one week of the new year.whether you are in office, college, Market or anywhere alive, you have to face this 'attack'.Whether you are happy or sad or terrorized, you will be greeted with 'Happy New Year'. Unwantedly and unwillingly you have to reply with the same zeal and 'enthusiasm'.Now we are in the year 2012.We left the past that is 'passed' but could not 'pass' the crucial 'lokpal bill' in the parliament. But still people wish us with a smile for the new year.In their view they are right but we cannot ignore the absurdities of 'past' that is passed and 'present' that is being pierced into our lives. For many, my words may seem to be new and ridiculous but a 'common' man of india 'Commonly Known' as Aam Admi, will definitely understand my feelings.Am absolutely not happy with this new year. Yes, because i don't have any hope of any good and any happier moments at least in this new year.

Every newspaper and News-channel is highlighting the 'highlights' of last year. Some of the 'highlights' are celebrity marriages, great happenings, great breakups and many more from showbiz.Death news of many dignitaries was also highlighted in Media. But unfortunately the poor sections of our society were not given that space which glamour enjoyed. No body (of course few) covered the plight of starvation population of countryside, and plight of farmers was also not the headline of any news paper. The media covers these stories just to make sensation and get the readership or viewership. The cricket is regularly on the cards of media to gain viewership and adds.

The other aspect of the New year is business. You may be thinking what type of business is related to new year.? Yes its all about business. Before one week or ten days of new year we see every body is hearing(of course by virtue of media) and talking about the Next year.

The media is abuzz with the news of new year celebration tips and 'methods' and 'spots' as well.We see many traders are selling wishing cards. We see people are buying novelties to present as gifts. This culture was not seen before ten years in our country. But now its very common right from a metro city to a small town.Bakers business booms.People of our country forget every misery and every scam which was topic of the town and which is severely affecting our pockets indirectly. On the other hand liquor business also thrive during the new year celebrations. Beaches of the different parts of our country witness a common 'flesh trade' and so on....Where does this lead to...?I am not a fanatic but a critique. The traders of different trades are making the huge population (america and other countries look it as a huge market) of our nation fools. They are creating such 'Days', 'Celebrations' and fetching the money. So by celebrating New year we are losing our hard earnings. Are we falling short of any festival. Can we (indians)count our plenty of celebrations. Then what is the need of new and obviously imported celebrations..
